North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) has been allocated £4.1m over the next three years for the national ‘Multiply’ programme.
Multiply is the new national programme focused on improving adult numeracy skills. Whether that be improving household finances, helping children with homework, making more sense of the facts in the media, or improving numeracy skills specific to a line of work. It is targeted at adults aged 19+ who need to improve their numeracy (up to and including Level 2) and supports both the employed and the unemployed.
Our Multiply programme will focus on three delivery themes: Community Engagement, Family Learning and Numeracy Skills for the Workplace. We wish to focus our investment on the individuals who would benefit most from the provision. We also want to ensure that clear progression pathways are available for those who take part in the programme.
Multiply is part of the Governments Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life.
Multiply is a creative and innovative programme which embraces Opportunity for All. Digital Voice and Liberdade, part of the Thriving Together partnership made this fantastic TikTok to show use of numbers in shopping and cooking.
We are proud to work in partnership with the following organisations for our Multiply Programme.
The Combined Authority receives funding to deliver the governments adult numeracy maths focussed programme, ‘Multiply’, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
