A range of top quality jobs will be created when global security firm Verisure sets up shop in the North of Tyne.

Verisure UK Services Limited has announced that the Quorum Business Park in North Tyneside is the location of its new UK operating site, with a commitment to create 1,000 jobs. And those jobs will include “everything from finance to technical to HR to marketing;” said North of Tyne cabinet member for economic growth, Cllr Bruce Pickard. The company, which is Europe’s largest domestic alarm provider, with more than 3.3 million customers in 17 countries, is already advertising roles within its marketing and operations teams and expects to have 100 people in place this year. Verisure is investing £3 million in the move and has an existing operations facility in Brentford, from where staff have been given the opportunity to relocate. However, the vast majority of jobs will be offered to people in the North East and will be in customer service, technical support, field operations, training, IT, telesales, HR and finance.

Cllr Bruce Pickard, who is Deputy Mayor of North Tyneside, said: “This is an opportunity for Verisure to expand and consolidate, by setting up in the North of Tyne as a full company. It means there will be a full range of jobs available, everything from technical support to finance to HR to marketing. This will be a great addition to the local economy.”

The company has signed an 11-year lease at the 104,000 sq ft The NEON Building, which is currently being adapted to meet its needs.

Verisure’s managing director, Gabino Sanchez, said the company chose to move to the North of Tyne because of the friendliness of the people, the incredible quality of life and the high standard of education. “We have been tremendously encouraged by the expert guidance, support and enthusiasm of Invest North East England, who we were first introduced to in 2018 and greatly assisted with information and the coordination of a number of insightful visits to the region. Likewise, North Tyneside Council and the North of Tyne Combined Authority were a hugely positive influence on us and convinced us that North Tyneside was the perfect location from which Verisure can meet its very ambitious growth targets,”

The NEON Building is currently under refurbishment by OKTRA as general contractor, whose recent projects include the Adidas health and fitness centre and UNICEF HQ, both London and accountants RSM’s headquarters in Leeds. The facility features open floor plans that encourage team work and cohesion, a state-of-the-art fit-out, a new alarm receiving centre from which to manage live incidents occurring within a home, several outdoor spaces, on site nursery and fitness centre.
