North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) has just opened a fifth round of Crowdfund North of Tyne with funding worth £90K available to support community campaigns throughout the region.

Crowdfund North of Tyne gives local people the opportunity to create and fund projects which celebrate and improve our local areas. Sign up to a free online workshop on 9 August to find out more about how you can crowdfund and make your idea happen.

Since launching two years ago NTCA has made £160,138 available for local projects to access and given £82,711 from the funds and supported 16 local projects in achieving their goal.

Each project can receive a maximum of £15,000 or 80% of their total project cost from the funds.  NTCA have pledged to grassroots community projects across Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside, everything from beekeeping, community film making.

Mayor Jamie Driscoll said  “We now have real live projects all delivered by our communities.  We stuck in some cash, but you did the hard work. I can’t think of a better partnership between government and the people that elected me.

“Thank you for stepping up and creating real change. The Spacehive team and North of Tyne staff will continue to help support your crowdfunding campaigns.  Let’s make even more ideas into reality.
