North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP) have secured £7.6m directly from the Department for Education to support the delivery of Skills Bootcamps in the NTCA region and wider NELEP geography. has secured funding from the National Skills Fund to run a series of Skills Bootcamps in a range of sectors.
We held an online information event on Monday, 25 April 2022 at which we outlined the procurement opportunity for Wave 3 Skills Bootcamps.
Skills Bootcamps offer free, flexible courses that give residents the opportunity to train and gain the valuable skills they need to improve their job prospects. Enhancing the skills capacity of our residents leads to a more flexible and productive workforce which in turn is a key driver for productivity improvements and employment opportunities.
The Combined Authority’s skills strategy ‘Opportunity for All’, is about creating an inclusive economy, which brings together people and opportunities to create vibrant communities and a high quality of life, narrowing inequalities and ensuring that all residents have a stake in our region’s future.
We are keen to see innovative proposals of realistic and sustainable options that demonstrate commitment to addressing the needs of employers and the wider economy. To help fill vacancies and bring individuals closer to better jobs (including those currently in employment), by linking them with line of sight to a job / different role, additional responsibilities, or new opportunities / contracts.
There are 10 Lots for the Skills Bootcamps.
