The Combined Authority is establishing a £9m Green New Deal Fund and we are inviting proposals to manage our fund.

The Combined Authority recognises the scale of the challenge to reduce carbon emissions but also the opportunity that the shift to a green economy presents for the North of Tyne area.

The Combined Authority is establishing a £9m Green New Deal Fund which can deliver significant carbon reductions as well as supporting new industry and jobs in areas where emissions reductions are most needed.

We are inviting proposals from a delivery organisation, or partnership of organisations to manage our Green New Deal Fund.  The Fund will stimulate innovation and business growth in areas such as heat decarbonisation, energy efficiency, renewables, energy systems, low carbon transport and nature-based solutions.

Please see the detailed call for proposals below.

It would be hugely symbolic if we committed ourselves totally to renewable and sustainable energy sources in the future. That would be real leadership on climate change.

Cllr Nick Forbes
NTCA Cabinet Member for Business Competitiveness

This call is not intended for businesses and other organisations to apply directly for funding which will follow in the programme, a separate application process will be established and communicated by the successful provider organisation.
