The NTCA are committed to deliver a comprehensive and successful employability and skills programme to the residents in our region.

Employability and Skills

The North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) has set aside up to £3m of the Inclusive Economy Innovation Fund (IEIF), to provide a much-needed source of match funding to unlock remaining European Social Funds available to the region. This programme will be delivered in phases to align with different ESF calls.

We launched the Employability and Skills Programme (Phase 1) in September 2019 and have provided in-principle offers of match-funding to six successful applicants to include in their ESF applications.

The projects we will fund give good geographical coverage across our patch and will positively impact the residents identified as key groups for the Inclusive Economy Innovation Fund, in line with the NTCA Inclusive Economy Policy Statement.

This devolution deal marks a big step forward in our plans to create more and better jobs across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
