Call for a programme of impactful volunteering and social action across the North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) area from June 2023 to March 2025.

Support for volunteering and social action is a key element within the North of Tyne UK Shared Prosperity Fund Communities and Place priority. This call seeks to invest up to £1 million in a programme of activity that complements the support currently provided by Local Infrastructure Organisations and Volunteer Centres.

The key objectives of this call are to:

  • develop more opportunities for North of Tyne residents from all walks of life to access high-quality volunteering roles that respond to local need;
  • co-ordinate an accessible programme of free training and development opportunities for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations;
  • co-ordinate an offer of support for local groups based in the North of Tyne area, enabling them to deliver meaningful social action projects.

We are seeking to invest in one programme that can deliver activity across the North of Tyne area. To maximise reach and deliver economies of scale, we particularly welcome applications from a single programme lead working with delivery partners.

The successful provider, or partnership, will be required to actively work with the three Community Partnerships and Employment Partnerships in Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside, as well as the successful VCSE Employment Support providers to ensure this programme adds value to existing provision.

Delivery period for this activity is 1 June 2023 to 31 March 2025.  The full UKSPF Communities and Place application documentation is available here.

This Open Call will close at noon on Wednesday 3 May 2023.

Applicants will need to be able to deliver across the full North of Tyne area and have volunteering infrastructure in place in local communities to ensure rapid mobilisation, activity and spend.
