Mayor’s Question Time is your opportunity to have a voice on the things that matter to you.

Over a year, Mayor Driscoll holds a Mayor’s Question Time in each local authority in the North of Tyne, and in October it is Northumberland’s turn.

The session will take place between 6.30-8pm on Wednesday 12 October at Headway Arts,Waterloo Road, Blyth.  This event will have British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation.

Jamie Driscoll was elected North of Tyne Mayor in May 2019 on a manifesto that pledges to focus on community wealth building, addressing the climate emergency, setting up community hubs, building affordable housing, and developing meaningful adult education.

Mayor Jamie Driscoll said: “I was directly elected by the people of Northumberland, North Tyneside, and Newcastle so it’s important that the people get to speak with me directly.

“You might have a burning question, or you might just be interested in hearing about what I’ve been doing as your mayor. Whatever your reasons, I look forward to you joining me in Blyth, be it in person or online.”

Anyone wanting to attend the event can book a ticket online and pre-ask a question on Eventbrite. There is the option to join the virtual Zoom audience and attend the event from the comfort of home. Again, when booking an online place, there will also be a chance to pre-ask a question.

Mayor’s Question Time is live streamed onto the Mayor’s Facebook page @NorthofTyneMayor. A captioned recording will be uploaded onto the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s YouTube Channel after the event.

Join Mayor Driscoll in conversation about his work at this question-and-answer session between 6.30pm – 8pm on 12 October either in person at Headway Arts or online.

Mayor’s Question Time is a BSL and captioned event; with BSL interpreters at venues and captions on the livestream.
