Right Reverend Bishop Christine Hardman is the Bishop of Newcastle and sits as the Chair of the Inclusive Economy Board.
Born in 1951, Christine studied Economics, graduating from the University of London with a BSc. She worked as an articled clerk and with an estate agency, and later graduated from Westminster College, Oxford with Master of Theology.
Christine’s ministry in the Church of England began in 1984, serving in parish ministry, and later as an Archdeacon. She has also held various roles for the national church. Retiring in 2012, she then re-entered full-time ministry when she was consecrated Bishop of Newcastle in 2015. Bishop Christine is also a Church Commissioner, Chair of the national pastoral advisory group on sexuality, member of the House of Bishops & General Synod, and a member of the House of Lords.
She has been married to Roger for 48 years, and they have two daughters and four grandchildren.Declaration of Interests
