North of Tyne Combined Authority

Leigh Mills is the Head of Inclusive Growth at the North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA).

Responsible for NTCA’s learning, skills and labour market strategy she leads a team delivering the £23m Adult Education Budget programme, and wider inclusive economy activities for the North of Tyne.

She believes in opportunity for all, removing the barriers which make it difficult for people to take up employment and training opportunities. Leigh works to develop, lead and champion initiatives which empower people with the skills and resources they need to take ownership of their futures and to secure good jobs with fair living wages.

Leigh has worked in education, skills and employability for over ten years having previously led the qualification development team at NCFE, a not-for-profit awarding body with a particular emphasis on supporting social mobility and prosperity.

Prior to this Leigh also has over seven years’ experience in the banking sector working for NatWest.

Leigh is a Ex Officio member of the Inclusive Economy Board.
