Deputy Mayor of North Tyneside Council

Councillor Carl Johnson is the Deputy Mayor of North Tyneside Council and Cabinet member at the North of Tyne Combined Authority.

Cllr Johnson is councillor for the Battle Hill ward and was first elected in 2012, aged 19. Carl is responsible for the delivery and presentation of Strategic Policy Direction of the Council, Regeneration and Economic Development, Corporate Strategy, Planning and Strategic Transport and the Delivery of the Investment Programme.

Within the Combined Authority, Cllr Johnson is portfolio holder for Investment and Resources.  Supported by NTCA Officers, Cllr Johnson is responsible for bringing real new jobs into the region, ensuring our investment and operations are robust and delivering an Investment Programme that creates jobs, skills and growth in the region.
