Chair of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership Board

Andrew Hodgson, Chair of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership Board (LEP), is the official representative for the North East LEP in the North of Tyne Combined Authority Cabinet.

In 2011, Andrew joined the North East LEP and became Chair in 2016. As part of his role as LEP Chair, Andrew works to help create jobs and strengthen the region’s economy.

He has held Chief Executive positions in subsea and energy sectors and has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Industry three times. Other awards include North East Business Exec of the Year, EY Entrepreneur of the Year and an OBE for his work in manufacturing.

Aside from Andrews’ commitments to the North East LEP and NTCA Cabinet he is the Chair of the North East Skills Advisory Panel, a trustee for the International Centre for Life and the Northern Education Trust and Chairman at Avid Technology.
