Who we are

Head of North East Area Team, HMG Cities and Local Growth Unit

Alex is Head of the North East Area Team in HMG’s Cities and Local Growth Unit, with oversight of strategic projects, engagement, and funding work across the North East LEP area. She joined the unit in January 2021.

She previously worked at the Department for Transport where she was Head of Ministerial Visits and led on the Secretary of State’s media visits as well as being engagement lead for the Future of Transport and Aviation and Maritime sectors. Alex has a background in communications and public affairs and has worked in both public and charity sectors.

Alex sits on the NTCA Inclusive Economy Board.
