Transport for the North are England’s first Sub-national Transport Body. They were formed with the goal to transform the North of England’s transport system, bringing economic growth by providing the infrastructure that is needed throughout the regions.
Both Mayor Jamie Driscoll and the Chair of the North East LEP sit on the Transport for the North board.
The Board is made up of a mix of representatives from the public and private sectors, Rail North authorities from outside of the Transport for the North area and delivery partners.
