UK Community Renewal Fund

North of Tyne Combined Authority is now seeking bids from organisations wishing to benefit from the UK Community Renewal Fund 2021/22.

The UK Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22. This aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.

North of Tyne Combined Authority has been designated a lead authority for Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside.

Please read the UK Community Renewal Fund Prospectus and the UK Community Fund Technical Note for Project Applicants and Deliverers before starting work on a bid, alongside the Invitation to Bid document which sets out local priorities.

Projects must be complete by end of March 2022.

Deadline for submission of bids to NTCA – no later than midnight on Friday, 7th May 2021.

Localised Supply Chains and Tourism Product Innovation Call

The Combined Authority is delivering a range of programmes to support the medium- and long-term recovery of the NTCA economy. As part of a £10m Recovery Innovation Fund, we have allocated £1m to support ‘localised supply chain development’ and ‘tourism innovation adoption’.

We are seeking proposals for programme(s) of activity that address one or both themes, and it is our intention to award delivery contracts to one or two organisations (or partnerships) depending on the proposals received.

The North of Tyne area has a strong offshore and subsea sector, which is vital in supporting the growth of clean energy in the North East.

Fundamental to our role as a Kickstart Gateway is ensuring that the employers we engage with create good quality placements and the young people benefiting from them gain a positive outcome from their placement. Central to this is a core offer of additional support to ensure that both the young person and employer gain a positive experience from Kickstart.  This Call seeks to bring forward innovative proposals for an organisation to deliver this core offer.

CLOSED: Green New Deal Fund

The Combined Authority recognises the scale of the challenge to reduce carbon emissions but also the opportunity that the shift to a green economy presents for the North of Tyne area.

The Combined Authority is establishing a £9m Green New Deal Fund which can deliver significant carbon reductions as well as supporting new industry and jobs in areas where emissions reductions are most needed.
