NTCA has allocated £0.8m of funding to this call which forms part of our wider green growth strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and seize the opportunities that a transition to low carbon economy provides. This call for proposals invites expression of interest (EOI) submissions from organisations that could deliver a Business Decarbonisation Support Programme primarily aimed at, but not exclusively for, SMEs. CLOSED: Green Growth Skills Call

NTCA are interested in innovative proposals that equip people with the skills they need to capitalise on the growing employment opportunities in the Low Carbon and Renewable Energy Economy in our region.

Projects may also support the transition to a green economy, with provision designed to support businesses or sectors with the skills needed to operate in a more resource-efficient way, minimising carbon emissions and preparing for climate change.

Brownfield Housing Fund

In July 2020, NTCA was awarded £23,853,618 Brownfield Housing Fund from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to unlock stalled Brownfield housing sites.

Since the announcement of funding, NTCA has worked with partners to develop a programme of brownfield sites and a number of proposals have progressed to delivery.

We are seeking expressions of interest for the North of Tyne Brownfield Housing Fund.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) Tourism & Events Programme has allocated an indicative amount of £1million for a Scale-up Fund to support regionally characteristic, diverse and professionally delivered events with high growth potential to expand and innovate. CLOSED: Access to Finance -Ecosystem Coordination 

NTCA is working to ensure that local businesses have access to the types of financial products they require at every stage of their development and receive independent and informed advice on the types of finance that are available and appropriate for their needs. 

We have allocated £900,000 of funding and is seeking proposal(s) for activity which will provide impartial support that connects and prepares enterprises for investment from the full range of public and private funding available from equity and loan funds, and mainstream financial institutions.

CLOSED: UK Community Renewal Fund

North of Tyne Combined Authority is now seeking bids from organisations wishing to benefit from the UK Community Renewal Fund 2021/22.

The UK Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22. This aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.

North of Tyne Combined Authority has been designated a lead authority for Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside.

CLOSED: New Tourism Product: Industry Design Consultation

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is investing £3.5m into our Tourism and Events Programme. This includes bringing new bookable tourism products to market, which inspire more visitors to stay longer, do more and spend more in our area.  

We are seeking ideas from tourism businesses, through our industry design consultation, for a further five products that we can commission on behalf of the tourism community.

The Combined Authority is delivering a range of programmes to support the medium- and long-term recovery of the NTCA economy. As part of a £10m Recovery Innovation Fund, we have allocated £1m to support ‘localised supply chain development’ and ‘tourism innovation adoption’.

We are seeking proposals for programme(s) of activity that address one or both themes, and it is our intention to award delivery contracts to one or two organisations (or partnerships) depending on the proposals received.

The Combined Authority is establishing a £9m Green New Deal Fund which can deliver significant carbon reductions as well as supporting new industry and jobs in areas where emissions reductions are most needed.
