NTCA are interested in innovative proposals that equip people with the skills they need to capitalise on the growing employment opportunities in the Low Carbon and Renewable Energy Economy in our region.
Projects may also support the transition to a green economy, with provision designed to support businesses or sectors with the skills needed to operate in a more resource-efficient way, minimising carbon emissions and preparing for climate change.
In July 2020, NTCA was awarded £23,853,618 Brownfield Housing Fund from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to unlock stalled Brownfield housing sites.
Since the announcement of funding, NTCA has worked with partners to develop a programme of brownfield sites and a number of proposals have progressed to delivery.

It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is investing £3.5m into our Tourism and Events Programme. This includes bringing new bookable tourism products to market, which inspire more visitors to stay longer, do more and spend more in our area.
We are seeking ideas from tourism businesses, through our industry design consultation, for a further five products that we can commission on behalf of the tourism community.

The Combined Authority is establishing a £9m Green New Deal Fund which can deliver significant carbon reductions as well as supporting new industry and jobs in areas where emissions reductions are most needed.
